KHAS meeting – 8th September at 7:30pm

Dear KHAS Member,

This is to remind you that there will be General Meeting of KHAS on Monday 8th September at the earlier than usual time of 7:30 pm prompt at the Kenilworth Senior Citizens’ Club, Abbey End.

At this meeting, members will be asked to vote on the following special resolution: to approve the application for our association to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), and to adopt a new constitution based on the Charity Commission’s model. You should have already received an email containing the relevant documents for the meeting.  If you are unable to attend and would like to vote by proxy, please contact us by email (contact@khas.co.uk) by 5 September 2025, telling us who will vote on your behalf.

Following the General Meeting we will resume with our scheduled programme.

Our speaker this month will be Chris Blunt, who is the webmaster for KHAS and editor of the recent editions of Kenilworth History. His subject is: “Why I Love the Anglo-Saxon Era, and why you should too.” This is an era that Chris is particularly passionate about so we should be in for an interesting evening.

As always, we are in need of volunteers for the museum, particularly over the two Heritage Open Day weekends, 13th/14th and 20th/21st September. If you are able to spare an afternoon, or two, Margaret and Michael would be very happy to add you to their rota.

Jan Cooper has also offered to conduct two tours of the Abbey Ruins on the 20th and 21st which will start at 3:00pm, bookings taken from 2:30 in the Abbey Museum, on a first-come basis.  Remember to let friends and family know that the museum is open on Sunday afternoons and bank holidays from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm.

Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting,

Good wishes,

Tony Shakespeare
